Everly has been not only abandoned by her family for acting bravely and saving a young girl when she herself was a child but she also had to leave that town for being the child of a heathen.

But now after a decade and a half, she's back to take control of her life. Starting with attempting to turning the place of all her painful past memories into a place of shelter and help. When left her childhood land to her in a will by her mother, Everly starts slowly rebuilding the place and intends to start an animal sanctuary.

Hayes is now the Sheriff of Wolf Gap. He's family is still been haunted by what happened all those years ago. Now the daughter of the man who scarred them is back in town and Hayes is annoyed and upset and makes it clear to Everly.

But slowly he starts seeing the woman behind the name she's been given and starts feeling for her.

But when Everly finally starts to rebuild something good with the help of Hayes' good family, there's someone randomly targeting young woman at attempting to kidnap and she just might be the next one.

That freaking first chapter of little Everly being Brave and helping a little child.. I don't think I've ever had a favorite chapter in a book that's made me want to reread that chapter again.

I'm astounded by Everly and her strength of character. Even after all that she helped saved a life, she was blamed and hurt and nobody was there to comfort her or take care of her.

Knowing how she won't be welcomed in the town, yet she has a purpose and she stands strong behind it.

This one was such a perfect slow build in how Everly and Hayes come together and start feeling things towards each other when initially Hayes was totally unwelcoming to her.

I loved Hayes' family. They are really good people who openly welcome even strangers. Then there's Hayes' sisters.

This one was totally about experiencing the beautiful small town life and seeing how Everly might be shunned by some but is also equally cared by and welcomed by other town folks. Koda, that adorable dog had me melting and feeling like kissing him. This one was definitely all about living and feeling Everly's life and experiencing all the gorgeous feels through her eyes.

AHH... I'm so excited for the upcoming books in this series. Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
