What a thrilling ride 😲💟

Dark, thrilling, captivating is what is Christopher and Ember's story. Page 1 and I was hanging on to this ride by the edge of my seat, so nervous and scared as to what I was reading.

First off when we start we see Ember being the lone bird trapped in her prison, thinking of her captor as her own. But what she doesn't realise is she's under the thumb of an evil man.

She's used to living all alone, in her cage with her cat until a stranger drops on their doorstep and gets trapped unbeknownst in her cage with her.

Christopher is just doing his job as the photographer for the rolling stones magazine. Never did he see this boring job turning into a fight for his life, for his freedom.

Richard is the ranger of the Hallelujah Junction. He thinks he's a man of God and doing his bidding. For him Ember is his daughter and Christopher is brought to him by God.

Honestly I found Richard a complicated dark and very evil man. When I read about his flashback for a second I thought he could be redeemed. But what he does later on..... It was just so difficult to witness such cruelty and such pure evilness.

My heart went out for Ember and Christopher as they are in a constant battle. Christopher is not ready to accept this fate no matter what, but you'll see how far Richard messes up with their minds to make escaping seem not possible.

I couldn't read fast enough. Especially that ending.. Oh my.. I felt I was on the edge, so scared, what will happen and how will things turn out. I'm oh so eager to dive into book 2. Can't wait. Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
