Didn't see that coming...
This was as addictive and fast paced reading for me as the last one. But where there was so many things happening in book 1, this one is more of Poppy and Ronan, hiding out in Ireland, which is part of Ronan's past.
We get to see both of them struggling with the dangers lurking while battling emotions they feel for each other.
But more than that, it's Ronan, who's facing a part of a place where lies his hurts from the past.
Poppy on the other hand dives straight into that past by befriending the local priest, Fr. Patrick, who's also hated by Ronan.
But Fr. Patrick is a friendly guy, battling with his own issues. He and Poppy were really sweet together.
Just like Poppy though, I was a bit irritated and frustrated by Ronan. Why was he not giving into it and finally getting with poppy. You'll be as frustrated knowing that guy teases you, brings you to the brink and doesn't go all the way. Ughhh.. Poor poppy..
This book mainly focuses on the Calm before the storm and that storm does come by.
Definitely not in the way Poppy and especially Ronan as thought would.
When life changing secrets are filled, everything is shaken and Poppy has to once again let go her dreams for the new turn that awaits her.
I gave that half extra rating only for that amazing twister at the end.
I was like... Oh my.... WHAT THE.. ๐ณ๐.... Because of that twister, I can't wait to dive into the final book now. Scared and nervous at the same time.
Rating : ๐๐๐๐ & 1/2 stars| 5.
